Calamaro is a 4.5-year-old Lusitano mix Gelding, standing out with his eye-catching palomino colouring and elegant Iberian type. With his golden coat, refined expression, and correct conformation, he embodies both the beauty and presence for which the Lusitano is renowned.
Calamaro shows all the hallmark qualities of his breed: natural agility, uphill balance, expressive gaits, and a strong willingness to work. He offers three correct, rhythmical paces, with particularly elastic and uphill movement that makes him a promising candidate for the dressage arena. His Lusitano heritage also gives him the versatility and agility desired for working equitation and other classical disciplines.
Under saddle, Calamaro is already proving himself to be a highly trainable and generous young horse. He combines sensitivity with rideability, showing both forward energy and a calm, reliable mind. His temperament makes him a pleasure to produce, while his talent offers real potential for the future. On the ground, he is equally straightforward — easy to handle, load, and shoe, with a kind and cooperative nature.
At just 4.5 years old, Calamaro represents an exciting opportunity for his next rider to develop him through the levels. With his rare colouring, outstanding temperament, and Lusitano quality, he is a truly exceptional young prospect for competition or classical training.
He is good to catch, shoe and load.
Personal Relationships:
Wayne: Considering how stunningly beautiful Calamaro is you wouldn't blame him for having a bit of spoilt brat attitude, however that couldn't be further from the truth. He is the sweetest horse you will ever meet, he loves people and other horses. He follows me around and is so gentle with everything he does, he is a real gentleman. He likes to rest his head in my arms and fall asleep. He is as beautiful inside as he is outside and will be a great partner for that special someone. He wont be around for long and I'll be very sad to see him go.
Nicole - The kids call him prince charming and that says it all. He is very gentle in nature, nothing fazes him. He is good with kids leading him and around dogs. Hacks out alone, he is very safe and would suit many types of riders. He is so uncomplicated and if you are looking for a horse that you can focus all your attention on with no vices he is honestly your man!
