Understanding What You’re Looking For
Every journey begins with a conversation.
We take time to understand your experience, riding goals, and the type of horse you are looking for. Iberian horses are incredibly versatile, and matching the right horse to the right rider is one of the most important parts of the process.
Because we work closely with breeders across Spain and Portugal, we are also able to guide riders who are searching for something specific.
Visiting the Horses
Riders are invited to visit our yard in Essex to meet and ride the horses in a relaxed environment.
Unlike many horses that are sold immediately after arriving in the UK, every Strathbury’s horse has already completed our careful selection and acclimatisation process.
This means riders are able to see the horses settled, confident, and ready to demonstrate their true temperament and ability.
Veterinary Checks and Preparation
Once a horse has been selected, we are happy to assist with the veterinary process and help ensure everything is prepared for a smooth transition to the horse’s new home.
Our priority is always the long-term success of both horse and rider.
The Strathbury’s Post-Sale Pack
Every Strathbury’s horse leaves with a detailed post-sale pack created specifically for that horse.
This pack is designed to give new owners a clear understanding of their horse from the very beginning.
It includes guidance on:
• feeding and diet
• preferred bits and tack
• saddle considerations
• management routines
• personality traits and preferences
• advice to help the horse settle into its new home
These notes are based on the time we have spent producing and understanding each horse during their acclimatisation period.
Ongoing Support
Our relationship with clients does not end at the point of sale.
We are always happy to offer advice and support as horses settle into their new partnerships.
